Active Audiences is a web publisher.  We see ourselves as the internet equivalent of a commercial TV production company.  AA started life on July 4, 2001.

The company now (December 2004) has six productions online, with two more in production and four more in pre-production. Most of these productions use AA's unique text-to-speech conversion technique, which allows instant natural speech conversion - no need to click and wait for sound files to open. This is especially useful for young learners, who can 'read' by simply mousing over text to hear it spoken. This technique has successfully passed the International Patent Office's examination phase, and now has patents pending in the USA and Britain.
